The receptionist was not very welcoming and seemed timid everytime we approached her to ask a question. Considering that I’m black and my partner is Hispanic (and we’re the only 2 there that were not Caucasian) we were very uncomfortable. She was also reluctant in giving me an apron when I asked for a cleaner one and said a smart comment when I said that the apron I had seemed like it was used. The instructor Sasha was nice and friendly, but did not offer us an apron and did not offer the idea of painting our pieces. But, she did a really good job at teaching us. However, the owner Naidege is amazing! She is so friendly, welcoming, informing and involved in her workshop. I would have given this place 5 stars if it weren’t for the receptionist. The first impression is the most memorable.

LOVE this place. I have always wanted to take a ceramics class, and was gifted an 8-week course with Choplet. It was amazing and I used the open studio hours constantly. If I wasn't moving away, I'd be signing up for another session! The community they foster is truly amazing, the supplies available are well maintained and in excess. The owner, Nadine, is a wonderful woman and her staff are very helpful. I highly recommend taking a class here!

I started taking classes here 5 months ago. I quickly saw that this was a place that accommodates a casual interest, expert and everything in between. The staff, owners and students are friendly and willing to help you figure out where things are as well as technical questions you might have. A great place to work with open studio hours every day of the week! I would recommend to anyone interested in ceramics in NY!

I've been a member of Choplet for a few years, started with taking classes with Damien who is a talented and thoughtful instructor until I decided to become a studio potter. The staff is flexible and always willing to answer any questions. The owners are really kind and always making improvements to the studio. I'm honored to be a part of a wonderful and welcoming community of artists and hobbyists!
