My wife and I chose Birth Roots because we really connected with Donna from the start. She's extremely experienced, both as a midwife and as a mother (9 kids!). After interviewing several midwives in San Diego, it became abundantly clear that Donna would be the one we would want to help deliver the baby with her determined demeanor and our best interests and beliefs thoughtfully considered. The prenatal care was excellent from Donna, and we really loved Ceniza's and Darynee's care throughout the way as well. Ceniza and Donna helped deliver the baby at home and, while the pregnancy and birth was mostly complication free, the baby turned at the last minute which was calmly and expertly handled by Donna and Ceniza. We did end up having to go to the hospital about an hour later for some breathing complications with the baby, but absolutely no fault of the midwives. They were very supportive at the hospital and continued their amazing care during the 6-week post-partum check ups. It was a sad day at our last appointment but we'll be back again for the pregnancy and birth of our next baby. Thank you so much from EJ, Nessa and Mia. \u003c3
Midwives have been delivering babies for hundreds of years longer then obgyn's, so when I became pregnant with my 1st child it made sense to look into midwifery. I began my research on natural child birth v.s. hospital birth and the freedoms of choice and benefits of hiring midwives were litterally endless. I could not have been more pleased with my prenatal care and birth experience at Birth Roots. Darynee Blout and Ashley Jones took away all my fears and provided the loving care and support I wanted that I wasn't getting from my obgyn at Lifetime Women's Healthcare. I'm so happy I made the switch from an obgyn to the experianced midwives at Birth Roots.
