Loved the seats here. One of the comfiest I've sat on. The sound system was great too as it should be when you're watching a Quentin Tarantino's movie. I'm not gonna complain about popcorn prices because it's pretty much the same everywhere. They could definitely have had a better restroom. Other than that very good place to watch a movie in NYC.

Great late night haunt. Their after 9pm specials are fantastic, and snacks are half off. Just saw Harriet and loved it.

I became aware of the Cinemas in 1969- 70.The Classic film Midnight Cowboy with Dustin Hoffman and Jon Voigt opened there. Myself, along with Sylvester Stallone worked next door at 999 Third Avenue, Bookmasters, and seized on the chance to see the pic as often as possible I wasn't aware that he was writing the Rocky films at the time, but he was. Upon leaving NYC in June of 1970,Sly was now working for the Cinemas, and asked if I would be interested in filling an opening there to assist him, I was recovering from a surgery and told him no, that as a then 17 year old, obviously didn't make very sound business decisions, having seconded guessed that one over the last 50 years. Many more stories to tell about the excitement generated by the theaters and what we did in our store next door!! Mary Travers of Peter, Paul and Mary lived around the corner and frequented the Cinemas and shopped for music with us, as did Burt Bacharach and wife, Angie Dickinson along with author, Norman Mailer. Lots of excitement in the neighborhood with the Cinemas as the centerpiece.

Audiovisual quality is outstanding. Friendly, helpful staff. Decent pricing for tickets and concessions. Mainstream movies, no classics. Comfortable seats. Well-maintained furnishings. No wi-fi. Clean bathrooms.

I like this theater. They have comfortable seats. The location is nice too, right across the street from Bloomingdale's. Can't beat it.
