My family and I have rented two properties managed by Clark Properties of Raleigh. When the owner of the first property decided to give it to his son, we were a bit unprepared for the move. Debbie Dixon is a saint for staying calm while I pestered the heck out of her in my panic. Not only did she find us a new home, she found us the perfect home! And it’s an old house - so it has old house issues. When something breaks, it gets fixed. If it’s expensive, there’ll be some negotiation with the person who has to pay for the repair, but it’ll be fixed. The biggest characteristic I can point to is their ability to be an advocate for owner and tenant. I like the folks at Clark, and I trust them. I care about them and they’ve looked after us, too. I want to address some of the negative comments I’ve read: nonsense. Clark Properties manages rentals (very well) for owners. There is a cap on how much they can spend on repairs without consulting the owner. Some larger repairs may be covered by insurance so the owner has to make some calls and wait. That’s life. As far as I can tell, the number one contributor to these 1 star reviews is unreasonable expectations. That’s not Clark Properties’ fault. One jerk gave a bad review because they couldn’t get a weekend appointment?! I guess that bad review is better than having a dork like that for a tenant.

They have threatened to kick me out during this global pandemic twice now... even though I’m waiting on unemployment to kick in I was told to get out by the 15th of next month. And that if I don’t, the. when they can legal evict me they will do so. Even though I have provided them proof of everything along the way(and ironically enough I just showed them I got approved for unemployment finally and should receive it soon) This is an immoral company with bad business practices. I pray They don’t accurately represent the home owner themselves... I’ll never rent from this company again

I'd go 4.5 if it were an option. Keep in mind, my experience is as a landlord with Clark Properties, but as such, I've seen how they've worked with renters when it comes to my properties. I feel like they've done a great job representing both sides of the transaction - if a renter seems \more solid to them than their credit score would suggest\ they tell me that - and it helps me make an informed decision about who I rent to. When there is a maintenance issue, they inform me and if it's under the \cap\ they've likely already taken care of it - which I like, as I find that a happy tenant is a long lasting tenant. I've had no issues with billing or responsiveness and the quotes they get me for \big repairs\ are generally pretty competitive and more importantly, I'm not the one who had to find them. For many years I was an \out of state landlord\ (now I'm local) and that was never a problem. If I were to get another rental property I'd certainly have them manage it as well.

FANTASTIC team to work with. I lived in a condo they managed for 7 years. They were very prompt and thorough to handle any needs that came up. Not only are the staff kind and respectful, but so are the vendors they select for any work that needs to be completed. I am moving and will really miss working with this team. Dependable, Respectful, Thorough, and Kind - qualities that are often hard to find these days. Great job CLARK PROPERTIES! Keep up the excellent work :)

I have worked with Clark Properties of Raleigh, N.C. as a property owner twice and have received excellent service. My first experience with Clark Properties was in 2001 and the experience was so positive that I hired them again in 2009. Nicole, Teresa, Rae Lynne and Debbie have been responsive to my tenants’ needs as well as mine. Clark Properties carefully screened tenants and ensured that the property was maintained during the lease. Both my requests and the tentants’ were handled promptly and I was impressed with Clark Properties’ efficiency. Their straight-forward, no-nonsense approach in property leasing leads me to have confidence in their professional team.
