From the gate, follow the dirt foot path and branch left at the wooden steps. You will wind through mixed hardwood and pine forest to a bald rock overlook of a scenic mountain range. At the second overlook, Slickum Creek spills down the rock face. You will turn left and continue through the quiet forest along the creek until to you reach the road. You can return the way you came, or turn left and walk on the road to the parking area. You may see a variety of wildlife including birds, squirrels, deer, and snakes. The Mountain sweet pitcher plant may also be seen here. Insect repellant is recommended in warm weather. Pets are permitted on a leash. It is unlawful to remove any plants or animals from a heritage preserve.
