My Dad is a 97 year old Vet and the Coatesville VA treats him like gold in every instance to -date. I was wondering, seeing long lines in other states of seniors on the news waiting to get the vaccine, how in the world I would get my dad a vaccine since he is not in a nursing home. I care for him at home. He can't wait in lines like that. He is on 02 and incapable physically to do that. Well, yesterday he got a call from the VA with an appt. for his first Moderma vaccine. WOW! I drove him there today and I have never seen a more efficient set up. No lines. No wait. Everyone so efficient and kind. They didn't even have him use his walker to get to the room where the covid vaccines were being given. They gave us a wheel chair and even had a volunteer push him instead of me doing it. I had full confidence in the safety of the set up in regard to covid. Wonderful! And the protocol for giving the shots - fantastic. Every single thing was well planned out and carried out to perfection. Thank you VA for this. I am so so pleased. He has his appt for his next shot already. FABULOUS. Worth 100 stars.

I really appreciate the fine staff and services provided by VA Medical Center, Coatesville, PA. Ask a question in the hallway and you may get several staffers to stop and assist. The Ophthalmology Department, Geriatric Department, and Coordinated Care program have combined to insure the Veteran's Administration Healthcare System has got my back. That means so much. Recently however with the new COVID-19 cautions, my experience with the routing of traffic into the Medical Center suggests a possible need for improvement. Upon turning into the usual entry, I was met with a ridiculously loud police horn. Big police presence. I could read the sign \EXIT\ and was obviously turning around. Yet someone behind the dark windows laid on the big horn un-necessarily. I found the entry point and proceeded through the well planned route for testing and screening for COVID-19. With clear instructions, I continued the course to an assigned parking area quite a long hike away from building #1, my appointment location. Many veterans have mobility issues. I don't know how they are expected to get to an appointment without a shuttle of some sort. Schlepping back from my appointment, I ran across a fellow Vietnam Veteran, a Marine. I ask him did he know why we were parked so far away. He laughed and we shrugged with snafu recognition. He then said, \Some cop in a huge police van really gave me the big horn when I pulled in to turn around.\ We both laughed and did the brig step back to our cars. I go to Coatesville VA for specialty care and infrequent emergency care. They have always been very accommodating in making appointments, and very punctual in taking care of me when I arrive at there facility. If it was closer to where I live I would get all my care there. The staff is always polite and respectful.

Audiology is definitely a 5 Star department...every process from making appointment to testing to receiving my hearing aids was seamless and on time...have had hearing aids for little less than a year and have had no problems... ordering hearing aid batteries and accessories was easy! Many thanks!!
