I came here to get an echocardiogram done which was ordered by my cardiologist in the same building. While I find him and his office fantastic, I will not go back to the office where I got my test done. The two ladies who worked there were nice, and the guy who did my test was super helpful and professional, except for when we were partway through the test. We got on the topic of my PCOS and I was discussing the fact that it gives me more male hormones and he made the joke, “So you can parallel park?” I was shocked because I wouldn’t expect such an unprofessional comment all of a sudden, especially from someone who was professional the rest of the time we interacted, so I let out an incredulous laugh. I think he noticed because he apologized and tried to backpedal saying if he said that in front of the “lady out front” (not sure if he meant the nurse or receptionist) “she’d hit him” so he tries to get away with it when not around her as much as possible. I was put in such an awkward position from that because out of both shock and the fact that I have cognitive fog from a currently undiagnosed illness, I wasn’t able to think of anything to say back other than mention I don’t drive at all. It was so incredibly uncomfortable to be put in a position like that. If a comment like that had come from anywhere else, it wouldn’t have surprised me in the slightest and I would’ve been able to roll my eyes and move on. But from a medical professional who’s got you in nothing but a gown from the waist up, hooked up to a machine, covered in gel and only half way done with the test so you have no choice but to stay there and continue to interact with him until it’s done, I was not ok with it.
