This quaint museum is on the site of the West Point Foundry, where some of the first locomotives used in New York were constructed. A large variety of military cannons were manufactured here, including large ‘300 pounders’ because they launched a 300 pound projectile from a rifled barrel. Make a day trip of this visit and include a hike on one of the beautiful hiking trails that are in very close proximity.

A neat place with interesting exhibits. Lovely grounds. Worth checking out.
Small but fascinating museum of area history. Well organized, with a nice shop selling books. Also information on and access to the West Point Foundry park.
lots of local history as well as excellent research resources.
It's small, but,a great source of local Cold Spring,NY area history. Make a brief visit there, during an Autumn-Foliage trip. It's well worth the nominal 5.00 admission!!
