Ashley, the woman that runs the place in Friday and Saturdays' is such a delight. Always a good vibe when you walk into that place. Takes you back in time to learn about some interesting stuff.

There is so much information packed into a small, local museum! And their volunteers are incredibly knowledgeable! Definitely worth a stop if you are in Old Colorado City!!
Old Colorado City History Center and Museum is located in the 1890 First Baptist Church. The Museum is small but full of history and I was lucky enough to be there when historian Leo was there. There are so many stories to tell about history that happened in Old Colorado City and Leo makes it all come to life.
This is a free museum run by volunteers in the heart of Old Colorado City. It's worth going in at least once to check out and read up on some of the history of Colorado Springs. I learned a lot including how railroad workers used to slide down the Cog Railway on their butts to get home faster, a method that lead to some interesting innovations (and injuries). They take donations but it's not required.
If you like seeing the History of anything, this is awesome. Small but interesting.
