I am very displeased with the treatment I just received from who ever answered the phone at Dr. Steven George, Md office. My daughter was diagnosed by her Primary Care doctor as having some form of Lupus. I simply called Dr. Georges office and the lady asked me if she has been diagnosed with Lupus. The reason for me calling Dr. George is to find out what is going on with my daughter's health. I was referred to Dr. George because he is a Pediatric and Adult Rheumatoid Doctor. This person tells me that what I was told regarding the bloodwork was not lupus and she kept disregarding the fact that my daughter needs to see Dr. George to determine if she in fact has lupus. The receptionist should not be giving medical advice to anyone especially someone over the phone that is not even Dr. Georges patient. Her demeanor and customer Service was very condescending and rude. I will gladly take my daughter somewhere else where we are not badgered by the staff and given medical advice by the staff. Primary Care physicians refer patients to rheumatoid specialist to confirm any diagnosis they may or may not have.....not to be given medical advice by a receptionist. This review will not allow me to post this without giving Dr. Georges one star....after the way I was talked to they deserve no stars.

My wife took our son to see Dr. George. He was extremely rude and dismissive. He accused her of abusing our son, in front of our son. He spoke to our son in such a manner that had him in tears when they left. He wants to pump our son full of medicine but won’t let my wife know of the side effects. All he said was that ‘they’ know what the side effects are. We are very hesitant at this point. Wondering if it would have gone a different direction if I was there.

Dr. George is an excellent doctor, he has been seeing my Daughter since she was 7/8 years old at Charles Street office and University of Maryland Hospital and now at his Columbia office and still continues to see her now at the age of 34, I've been very Happy with him as my Daughter is as well. As for the office staff that's totally different story, the office staff seems to forget to pass messages to him at different time's, but being a mother I'm a persistent parent at time's.

My son was diagnosed with Lyme Arthritis and had a swollen knee that refused to go back to a normal size. We went through the rounds at Kaiser and even spent a week at Children's National Hospital in DC and went home with an iv and home nurse. Our insurance changed (thank God) and we saw Dr. George. He drained it put an anti-inflammatory in it and it returned to normal!
