My two daughters (now 3 and 5) have been at JBS Columbia for over a year now and I couldn't be more grateful and pleased with our experience. Before moving to Columbia I visited several schools - JBS was the first. After making my rounds I went back to JBS b/c I had the best feeling about the school but was a little concerned about some of the reviews I had read. Well, during that 2nd visit I had the chance to be given a tour by Ms. Julia Brown herself...and wow...the thoughtfulness, wisdom, compassion, and care I experienced during my time with Ms. Brown gave me insight into the foundation and ethos of the school and left me 100% confident that they would do their very best for my girls. I have not regretted that decision for one moment. The relationship with the teachers and the site administrator has been such a valued partnership. My girls have been so happy there and the school did an exceptional job at managing the chaos and challenges with COVID this year, pivoting very quickly to develop a high-quality online option and maintaining good communication as circumstances changed. The girls have been back at school in-person since mid-August without incident. On top of all this, they were the most affordable option of the 5 institutional pre-schools I visited so that's an extra bonus! Thank you JBS family for all you do!

Our daughter has been a student at JBS for many years. She is now in her final year and we are very sad to leave. All the teachers and staff have been fantastic in helping our daughter grow and develop into the remarkable individual she is today. JBS has been very much intertwined in and out the classroom with our family and a great part of this success is the open and continuous communication that we have experienced over the years. The curriculum has always kept her ahead of the game with the advance lessons and practices. We are very thankful for all the support and encouragement our daughter received from JBS over the years, all the friendships and lifelong lessons that she will carry with her for life.
We feel so blessed to have found the best daycare we could ever hope for. Our little one had a terrible experience with her first daycare at a National chain that was highly recommended by many. We almost gave up on daycares all together, but decided to give JBS a chance. We noticed the difference in our little immediately. Our little one was so comfortable with the staff... it almost felt like dropping her off at a relatives house. There’s nothing that beats peace of mind knowing that your little one is going to be safe and well cared for. And on top of it all, our little one is so independent and has learned so much from their teachings. I can’t say enough good things about JBS and we can’t wait to send all of our future kids through this program.
My son has attended Julia Brown for over two years, and it has been a wonderful experience. The Montessori curriculum has been great for him, he's learned to be an independent child who isn't afraid of learning new things. I also love the fact that he interacts with mixed ages of children throughout the day, it's taught him how to behave with kids other than ones that are his own age. The teachers are loving, caring, and world class. I couldn't be happier that we made the switch to Julia Brown.
I can't say enough about the experience my children had while they attended. Not only did they thrive academically, but socially and emotionally too. The atmosphere of the school is nurturing in every aspect. The owners and teachers care about the whole child, not only if they are learning to read, but also if they are eating well, resting well, and playing well. What a relief as a parent to drop them off every day without worry. I knew what a treasure this school was then, and it has been highlighted even more since we have experienced other schools.
