If you’re going to renew/change your driver’s license, I would HIGHLY recommend going online first and making an appointment. The online appointments were scheduling about 10 days out. But, I was in and out in less than an hour. That’s got to be some kind of record. The employees we dealt with were efficient and polite.

The worst! We went there for learner's permit test and were put on a list behind "people who had an appointment," even though state website did not say appointment needed for learner's permit test. There were ZERO people taking tests at the PCs we were told my son would use. Were told we were "fifth on the list." Six hours later, still waiting for the call to say it's our turn. Service so bad I think that must be the point: the clerk identified us as out-of-towners and put us on the "don't serve these people" list. We weren't rude and didn't do anything to make her decide not to serve us, but she had clearly made up her mind not to. Amazing that such poor service should be a reality, but it's the public sector, so I'm really not surprised.

Longest wait ever called before hand to see if it was busy or if anything was different since Covid 19. I was told no busier than usual and just to walk inside. What a falsehood. Got there at 9:30 and didn't get waited on until 12:15. None of the doors were wiped down the whole wait and people were told they couldn't enter without mask but none were provided.

A long wait of 2 and a half hours but it was Thanksgiving week so cant complain much about it. Other than wait the staff was friendly and no problems getting new ID. Just make sure you bring Social Security card with!

Don’t go to the DMV in Nashville so worth the 50 minute drive to Columbia. Monday morning 750 and I’m the second in line. A lady came out at 745 to check documents. They open at 830 but started calling numbers at 810! And they were very pleasant!

Much better than Franklin location. People are helpful and take time with you

After the worse experience in Franklin (taken my daughter out of school and gettin there by 2:15, no parking, unbelivable amount of people, to be told that facility has reached it's capacity for the day) we called the place about driving ther to get permit test. The lady was so nice and said if we get there by 3:30 we should be fine. We arrived at 3:10 and were out before 5 with permit. Everyone was so nice and the place had much more staff membes than in Franklin. The waiting room smelled like cigarets mixed with BO but even that, (to a non- smoker) wasn't so bad.

My son got his drivers license today. Place was packed. The smokers stink the place up. But the ladies and gentlemen there do a great job dealing with numerous situations and issues professionally and efficiently. Ms. Benderman took care of us. She was very courteous, clear with instructions, and made my son feel comfortable. Great experience for us.
