Elaine was absolutely amazing at supporting us through our first birth (during a pandemic no less)! She was so knowledgable, and was such a wonderful, trusted source of information throughout my pregnancy and in the weeks after birth. Being first-time parents, we had a lot of questions and didn't quite know what to expect throughout the whole process. Elaine was an amazing guide, who provided evidence-based information throughout every step. As we weighed our options, and continually revised our birth plan, she gave us high-quality information to help us make our decisions. Throughout all of this, she was non-judgmental and supportive. She did an amazing job not only in providing information, but also support during the labor and delivery. I really don't know what we would have done without her!

Elaine is simply the best. She has supported me through 3 births, 2 natural and 1 induction with epidural. She is intuitive, knowledgeable, and supportive. Would not ever want to give birth without her. For the last 2 births she knew i was pregnant before my husband because I knew I needed to secure her services ASAP! Her knowledge and compassion are a necessity for anyone giving birth. :) Sarah Snow

Elaine is wonderful: supportive, thoughtful, and incredibly knowledgeable, always approaching my partner and me with such respect and care. She supported me through both an 18 week loss and a full term pregnancy. With the loss she compassionately and patiently answered all my questions about what I could expect to experience. She made herself as available as I wanted before, during, and after the stillbirth. With our subsequent full term pregnancy my partner and I decided quite late to switch from a hospital birth to a home birth because of COVID. She helped to make that transition feel accessible and easy. She connected me with resources that blew my mind and totally reframed how I thought about birth, with resources that prepared my body for a relatively easy labor. I was in labor for a total of an hour and a half! That was so very intense and through it she helped me feel safe and capable and like everything I experienced, while indescribably intense, was normal. I wholeheartedly recommend Elaine to anyone looking for the best birthing support available in the area.

We were so lucky to have Elaine be our doula. We had our son (first child) in December 2019 and if you ask either myself or my spouse, hands down, our solid recommendation for any type of birth is to have Elaine! She was a wonderful source of support for us pre, during and post birth. Beforehand, she helped us develop the perfect birth plan for us and provided us with great guidance for working through labor, delivery and beyond. During labor, she showed up when we were ready to throw in the towel and go to the hospital and basically pushed the reset button for us. She helped us meet our goal of laboring almost entirely at home and she helped us get to the hospital with minimal stress when that time came. While giving birth, she was a fantastic support for both of us and she stayed with us after the fact until she was sure that everyone was situated and taken care of. We had her breastfeeding package so she came multiple times after we got home to help us troubleshoot breastfeeding and it was so wonderful having her help with this. Aside from her professional capacity, she really acted as a friend - giving emotional support and an outside reassurance that we were doing just fine in struggling through the newborn phase of parenthood. We had her come for a few postpartum care visits in addition to the package we had signed on for and on those occasions she gave us much needed stress relief and smiles. We love Elaine and would recommend her to anyone and everyone as a doula!

Words are not enough to commend Elaine on her work- she is truly a gem in Central Ohio. Her skills are both a graceful art and an effortless science. The care, support, and dedication Elaine consistently provides is what every pregnant and post-partum family deserves. I have known Elaine since our first childbirth education class with her over 5 years ago, and was honored to have her as my doula. Her belief in you as a birthing person is contagious. Her experience in a variety of settings and with other birthing professionals makes her an invaluable resource on your birthing team. Additionally, Elaine's commitment to consistently improving her professional skill set, actively advocating and engaging in justice work, as well as dedicating her time and resources to improving the field of birth work both professionally and personally make Elaine stand out in the best ways possible. On a personal note, Elaine went above and beyond when we had an emergency with our newborn at 4 days old-- Elaine made sure we were supported by showing up at a moment's notice both physically and emotionally even though it was far beyond the expectation. Elaine's support through one of the scariest experiences of my life allowed me to process and begin healing. Her spirit and support remind me that her work goes far beyond the physical experience of birth and deep into the soul what it means to be a doula.

Preparing to give birth for the first time during a pandemic is such a daunting task and it left me feeling extremely anxious and alone. I had switched to a new OB practice when I found out I was pregnant so meeting with OBs and midwives for the first time with masks on during Covid was not the most calming environment. I felt like I wasn’t getting all the answers and help I needed to prepare for the birthing process and decided to find a doula to help me be able to advocate for myself at the hospital. After our interview with Elaine we knew we wanted her to be our doula. We loved her philosophy of wanting to help us be as prepared and informed on the birthing process so we could not only advocate for ourselves but also be prepared for every scenario knowing childbirth can be unpredictable and could deviate from our plan. We chose the package with 3 prenatal appointments and found each one to be extremely helpful for us. They were very informative and helped us feel knowledgeable and confident going into the process. I truly believe my birth would not have gone the way it did had it not been for Elaine. When I went into labor at home, my preparation from our sessions gave me the confidence to continue laboring safely in the comfort of my home before heading to the hospital. Both at home and at the hospital, my husband was an amazing support person with what he learned from Elaine and that was so impactful and helpful for me. The advice Elaine gave me about breastfeeding also really helped my son and I establish a successful breastfeeding relationship right off the bat. Elaine even checked in on me multiple times after giving birth, which I felt was above and beyond what we had signed up for. In a pandemic or not, I highly recommend having a doula and without a doubt would recommend Elaine!

Elaine is the doula you didn’t know you needed even when you’ve always loved and hired doulas. Elaine was our doula for our third baby. We had different doulas for each birth because they all kept retiring! Even though you might think you have a handle on birth the third time around- I would not have experienced my most empowered birth (and all were great BTW) without Elaine. This birth was different from my others because I was induced for medical reasons, and Elaine helped to center me and remind me that my body knows what to do and that I can listen to when I am ready- whether my midwife was in the room or not! I cannot recommend Elaine highly enough to birthing people. You need her in your life.
