Bugs... I cannot stress enough that your privacy and safety matter. I would recommend changing in the bathroom, but only if you think it is safe.

Called to request information about an apartment. The second I said I was interested in the apartment the receptionists chews my head out \SIR! this is for emergencies only! I don't have time for this\ how was I supposed to know that. I Called the number on their website. and she says \I can transfer you to the VOICE MAIL so you can leave a message\ that's the most ridiculous thing I've heard. She really couldn't take my email and sent me some information????? What a joke

The people that work here are not lenient or helpful whatsoever. Before, and especially biw during the pandemic even. They have very strict guidelines and rules for their tenants and they raise the rent astronomically every year. A 650 sq ft 1 bedroom apartment with a housing development organization/ company should never cost someone 1000 a month. They don't fix any issues with your apartment if ever you have one unless it's like a utility emergency. The property manager is very rude at times and contradicts herself when giving you information. She'll promise you one thing and then tell you the complete opposite the very next day. Not to mention she will blatantly ignore half of the things you tell her. They aren't reasonable people there. They're very unforgiving and treat their tenants like sub human income devices. I would definitely not recommend trying to get on your feet using CHAD. They will rip you off and neglect your concerns and treat you like a lesser being. Stay away if you can. LAST RESORT ONLY!!! They're going to find themselves deep in a bad lawsuit one day I'd imagine.

My wife and I lived here for 2 years and there is a lot to say about these apartments, the ones in the Joliet area at least. If you don't mind driving down to Wheaton to fill out ALL your paperwork than that would help you. Receptionist (every time we went) were not orientated towards customer service especially over the phone, horrible customer service over the phone. The rent WAS cheap when we first moved in 850 for a 2bd 1br was nice. There was some problems like dented baseboard heater in the bathroom, the patio's paint was completely chipped and part of the railing was slightly out of the wall, among other small things. We brought this up to them when we moved in and the maintenance guy just said that those things are all fine so it's not a problem. Maintenance was probably the only consistent thing with this company, although they didn't do much if things were actually wrong (low water pressure for toilet, other stated things) they at least came pretty quickly to check everything. Laundry room in the building was decent but the problem was that 1 dryer wasn't tumbling which could have actually started a fire. This was reported by multiple people but nothing was ever fixed. 1 year after we moved we had to renew our lease which of course meant a drive down to Wheaton where they also increased our rent by 25, not too bad I guess. Come the time to renew our lease again (during the Covid pandemic) they increased our rent again! As a affordable housing community they made sure it wasn't affordable during troubling times! IF you need a place that is cheap TO START OFF and don't mind anything else I said then by all means look into this, the apartments are nice for the most part. Management is horrible and not helpful and will take forever to reply to any emails or calls. Pamela Broniatowski was the only helpful one in that whole team, that's it! We actually waited to get our security deposit just in case they tried to pull anything shady.

I've used CHAD twice now. The first time was in 2018 when I moved into a one bedroom of their's for a year. It was great up until the final month when their resident portal rejected my ACH payment (from a saved account on file) which caused a late fee that they were unwilling to remove despite my explanation of the situation and my spotless rental history. I ended up moving out of the unit due to a 15% rent hike for renewing. In February 2020, I decided to apply again because they really do have great pricing for their units. The whole approval and lease-signing process was just under 2 weeks and I didn't run into any issues. All the staff at CHAD are nice, helpful, and keep you updated throughout your application process. I love the space and layout of my new apartment and the area it's in. My only complaint would be that the walls are a little thin so I do hear my neighbors regularly; however, this was not the case in my old CHAD apartment. I recommend CHAD if you're looking for an affordable place to live where the management company cares about their property and tenants.
