La Fritanguera is located in Concord, United States on 1819 Colfax St. La Fritanguera is rated 4.3 out of 5 in the category nicaraguan restaurant in United States. We are both from Nicaragua and second generation in the U.S. Our parents migrated here because of the revolutionary war in the 80’s. We are extremely passionate about our heritage and food. We stay grounded by cooking our family recipes, and continue to explore for new flavors our native country has to offer. We are eager to master all Nicaraguan flavors, and therefor inspired to share them with you.

Born and raised in Nicaragua, this is nothing like Nicaraguan food. The cacao is not cacao, I ordered one thing and got another "because there wasn't anymore of what you ordered so the chef made this". What kind of explanation is that!? The food took forever to be served, part of my order never came and the food that did come wasn't good at all. Completely disappointed.

If you aren't aware of Nicaraguan food then this a good place to start. It's got delicious traditional plates that are well priced. We happen to show up at an event where they had a DJ and it reminded me of parties my family used to have where that was dancing, good food, good drinks, and good vibes. Being Nicoya myself it makes me feel a little more at home. Even with the social distancing it was nice to be out and enjoying the good vibes.

I bought 6 “Nacatamales” yesterday. When I first Went inside the restaurant, I asked if they had NACATAMALES , and the person who took my order said “yes we have tamales” , I told them, tamales? I don’t want tamales, isn’t this a Nicaraguan restaurant? Or am I in the wrong place? That made me hesitate about purchasing the “Nacatamales” but since another lady made a big order of them I went ahead and purchase. I just opened one to eat right now at my house and I seen that there was rice, plantains and yuca THATS IT!!! What in the heck is that??! That is NOT A NACATAMAL people!!!! Never in my life I’ve seen a nacatamal with that on it! That is not authentic!! Whatsoever. I payed 48 for 6 of them! You guys are lucky I’m not going back to the restaurant and give back your so called “nacatamales” and ask for my money back! Or should I? Y’all should be ashamed of yourselfs! Ripping your customers off by making them buy your so called “authentic Nicaragüense good” it’s all BS! PEOPLE DONT BUY FROM HERE. Such a shame!!!
