I’ve been in the customer service industry for the past 30 years. A couple of days ago, I received some of the best customer service from Coontail (a retailer supplying everything from kayaks to canoes, bikes to snow shoes, groceries to minnows, steaks to fresh fish - they’ve got it all for residents located in the Northern Wisconsin lake country)! I received a gift last Christmas - unfortunately it didn’t fit. I returned it to one of the Coontail stores and was issued a gift card. I attempted to utilize the gift card to purchase a new fishing jacket this Winter, however, I received an error stating that the gift card was invalid. I emailed customer service about the issue. Much to my surprise, I received a very nice email the very next morning from Pam apologizing for the inconvenience. She must’ve communicated with a co-worker by the name of Steve whom was aware of the issue and proceeded to expedite the transaction and had the jacket arrive to me the next morning! Wow! I definitely wasn’t expecting to receive the jacket the next day! I also received a follow up email from Pam asking if I was satisfied with the transaction and if I had receive 40 in additional e-gift certificates for my purchase. Great follow-through and attention to detail by this company! I was so impressed that I placed an order immediately for the matching pants. Great job Coontail - keep up the great work that you’re doing in the Northwoods of Wisconsin!!! Happy Holidays!!!

Don't expect much from the staff. If you sell high end stuff I expect high end service. One employee just followed her friend from high school around gossiping about nothing. I had to chase a guy down to get a pair of shoes and when I had questions he was gone. The prices are good. All top quality products. I will go back again, just remember that 5 people standing behind the counter are waiting for me to tell them I need help.

Could not have asked for better service or nicer people. Katie helped me reserve and answered my many questions. The owner gave advise on how to stay warm on the trails and dress appropriately and everyone went above and beyond to be of assistance

Awesome location for all of your outdoor recreation needs. The staff are amazing, and the products they carry are high quality. We rented fatbikes from them and had an amazing experience.
