Bob and his team have provided excellent service on our boat for years now. We have had his crew out to our home to work on the boat as well as taken it to their shop. He is knowledgeable and has helped me with simple fixes and advice when I have called.

Bob, the owner, not trusted, crooks!!!! Be aware!!! Kept the boat for two months, Charged us2700 for fixing the water pump and cleaning up the carburetor on a small boat. Still the problem not solved, the water gets inside the boat.... Insane!!!!!i

Barefoot Watersports is a highly recommended boat service and maintenance provider. New to boating and NC, I’ve utilized Barefoot for many things in the last 12 months; used boat evaluation, winterizing, spring service, boat cover and a repair. Bob is always available by phone and has been patient in educating us. Greg has done the dock visits, maintenance and repair and definitely knows his stuff. For the recent boat repair, despite being in the middle of busy season, Barefoot was able to fit in my repair and return the boat fixed within 4 days of starting the repair. It involved a tow and other services. They have great relationships with supporting services such as towing and prop repair. These relationships shortened the time I was without my boat. Fair pricing too. All staff members are terrific. My go-to boat service provider!!

Please beware! I can't stress that enough. Get whatever your getting done in writing and quoted and even then be skeptical. When I got my boat winterize I was told it needed to be summerized before the boating season this year. I know jokes on me he could tell I was a first time boat owner, there is not such thing but even worse who tries to get over on someone like that? To top off going in for the \summarize\ service (last month May 2018) I went to Bob the owner and said I have a idle issue. I said I had a full tune up in October last year with the spark plugs replaced, he said it may be the carburetor but we will check and do a oil sample and specifically said I will call you if I do anything over the summarization that will cost you. No lie, two weeks later I get my first call to tell me my boat is ready and my bill is 450.00. He had done the summerization (again the biggest joke, essentially hooked my battery up for 120.00) he had done a two hour lake test drive (100.00 a hour) and changed spark plugs, and labor. First he told me he would call if it was over 120.00- NO call. Then his shop is .5..... 1/2 mile from the lake and it took you TWO hours to crank it to see it didn't run right? Then you change my spark plugs that I came in saying were just changed 6 months ago? When I reminded him explicitly of our conversation his response was, Oh it must of been a misunderstanding. To top it off he wanted to charge me 750.00 to rebuild the carburetor, another gimmick. Shop around.. I got the SAME exact service for it to be rebuilt for 350.00. So not only does he not do right by the customer in numerous ways, he does bad business to make a dollar. DO not go here. Go down the road to Workhorse Marine, if you want honest, fair, and upfront customer service!
