Run down airport with management that doesn't care about potentially catastrophic air crashes, putting all county/city residents at risk. There's no way the city should be contracting with the forest service to train new back-country/bush pilots right over the city of Cottonwood. Do you hear the planes revving their engines all over town? They are practicing back country landings & takeoffs! Then we have all of the old people pilots that can't get a spot at the Sedona airport & now use Cottonwood instead. We have had some near misses with 70 year old pilot group! Remember a couple of years ago when a 76 year old pilot crashed his plane into a residential area, killing the pilot and injuring several people on the ground? That plane crashed less than 2 miles from the Dr. Daniel D. Bright elementary/middle school, where we have over 700 of our children attending! This should scare the heck out of all of us who live here! It's time to look at moving the airport to a new, more remote location. If done right, this should be a huge business/professional/tourism opportunity for the city of Cottonwood and the whole Verde Valley! The time has come for our city to move forward with a new airport & new life for the Verde Valley! RV.

Great airport, no tower, less traffic, great Fbo, and great runway. Nice place to live.

Runway is plenty long for small single and twin engine aircraft (4252x75ft). The runway is in good condition. There is no control tower on the field...it is CTAF. Fuel is available.
