We stayed in cabin 8. It was clean and well decorated but I felt like I was paying 5 stars for a 3 star place as far as the amenities. For example, there is a oven but no baking sheets to use it. There was a barbecue grill but it was dirty and small(not large enough to accommodate the listed 12 people or even the 9 that were in our group. Exactly 12 plates but a tiny dish drainer. I appreciated that the game room allowed for reservations during Covid but was surprised to hear they charged for things like using ping pong balls. We also had a hard time getting service at the store. My 12 year old daughter needed some unexpected supplies. We waited for the store was open but no one came to the desk even though we rang the bell a few times. I finally hunted down a person in the kitchen and we were able to pay. All- okay if you are paying 3stars but disappointing since we thinking “resort”.

Was there over Valentine's weekend. Snowed aprox 2ft. The snow was expected, the amount not so much. The staff were busy each day with a tractor, snow blower and shovel keeping it as clear as possible. Obviously it was impossible to take advantage of much of the amenities like the pool, playground etc. The gift shop was nice and had some items we purchased. Ate one meal from the bar/cafe as take out due to covid restrictions and outside seating was a bit cold, although they did have several heaters out. The cabin, 5B was clean, warm and romantic. On Valentine's Day a staff member brought a rose and a card to our room. Nice touch folks! I will recommend the Lone Fir to friends. Thank you for working so hard to make our experience a great one under such trying times, restrictions, and conditions all around.

I spent a couple nights at their Cabin 10 and was pleased with my stay. The only coaching I can add is to make sure the gas is hooked up so customers will have heat and hot water during their stay. The food was okay at their restaurant. Nothing mind blowing but good for being in the middle of nowhere. I plan to stay at cabin 10 again when I fish Merwin Lake in a couple months.

Wonderful little resort! Loved the cabin. It was not was I was expecting from the outside, very modern rustic decor inside. Jonathan, the GM, is awesome. I had planned on arriving early, ordered the fresh baked cookies to be delivered at 6 pm; ended up getting there around 7 PM. The cabin was warm, lights on, and cookies wrapped up on the kitchen counter. The cookies are amazing, by the way, worth coming back for by themselves! Cannot wait to come back and check out another cabin and stay a little longer. Thanks Jonathan!

This hidden gem was a delightful surprise. Because they have the unique attribute of this specific location, they really don't need to try very hard, but they do. They are clean, up to date, friendly, comfortable, and stocked up. The restaurant was yummy too. My only frustration was dubious for such a place- poor internet connectivity. But isn't being cut off half the point of coming to the mountains?

I was not expecting much, but the room was absolutely beautiful and the towels smelt like the detergent aisle (definitely good thing). The staff is so kind and helpful with whatever you need. I ordered a mimosa and they delivered it to my door 5 minutes later. I will definitely be coming back, the staff made the room and stay feel so much cozier and laid back. Thank you guys, keep up the fantastic work. Grateful for you all. :)

Wonderful place to stay! Clean and cozy cabins. We really enjoyed the cheese curds and chocolate lava cake. Jonathan is so helpful and makes sure it a great experience as well.

We planned on staying one night but ended up staying two after a long day on Mt. St. Helens. We had the option of a near 7 hour drive home after 11 hours on the mountain or staying again at the Lone Fir Resort (assuming there were any rooms available). After the first night's experience and an available room, the decision was easy. Our second night experience was as good as the first so you can consider this two reviews! The cabin rooms (we had a different one on night two) were well appointed and very clean. As others have written, the towels are something you would expect at very expensive hotel/spa/resort. The manager and staff in the restaurant are first rate and efficient. You can tell that they take pride in their work and want to create a great guess experience. We ate dinner from the restaurant each night - the first night in the room and the second night in the restaurant. The food was ready in 15 minutes each night and they did a nice job of spacing out tables to comply with the Covid restrictions. The food was well prepared each night and there is a good variety of pub food and healthier choice options along with a good beer selection. Can't ask for much more - except maybe cell service but that is beyond their control. The wi-fi worked fine and the speed is consistent with what you might expect to find in Cougar, WA.
