We have used BrightStar for a little over a year. My husband needs bathing assistance due to Parkinson's. We interviewed several home providers and were most impressed with Karen P and their strict background check policy and scheduling flexibility. We have worked with Dave N. and he has been an asset to my husband's care. Not only is he professional, he is also friendly, caring and can talk on many subjects that my husband also enjoys. We highly recommend BrightStar and Dave N for in home assistance.

We have used BrightStar Barrington since May 2020. My husband has Parkinson’s Disease and it was getting hard to do all the caregiving. I needed some respite care. So we called BrightStar. The owner, Karen, came to talk with us. She answered our many questions. She said she had some people in mind. It has worked out very well. We have 2 men that share the week. Jim has developed a very good relationship with one of the men. Dave N. is very good with Jim. He has a great sense of humor. He understands PD. He is very patient with Jim. He helps with what ever needs to be done. Dave has been here since the beginning. Jake has been here about 2 weeks and does well also. He seems to enjoy working with Jim. When I first called BrightStar, Karen was very helpful in telling me about the company and all the regulations. She and Jeff were very caring. Gina created a great team for my dad. Ruth, Jake, Shirley, Austin, Tashina, Saudah, Cecilia and Margot were very caring. I hope I didn't forget anyone! It was helpful to have them there when I couldn't be. I especially loved that they updated me throughout the day and night. The only reason I did not rate them as excellent is because I still needed to be there daily due to the medical needs of my dad. These include wound care, stopping the IV, meds and stoma care. I didn't realize the limits of the care. Thankfully, they had a nurse on call that jumped in to help a few times. I also wanted to mention what an exceptional job Jake did. Not only did he take great care of my dad, he went above and beyond. He would sit with my dad and talk and watch TV. He was very caring and always looking for something to do to improve my dad's health, physically and mentally. He challenged my dad. He is a gem BrightStar! Thank you so much for everything.
