I have lived in Crystal Lake for over 5 years now and have utilized many district classes, Extended Time and adult classes. I've found the online tools very easy to use (and I'm not super techy) and have had a great experience when a call was needed to answer a question I had. All the instructors have been very good and I felt were a good value too.

This was our first year signing our son up for Crystal Lake's Summer Camp. He was hesitant at first, not knowing what to expect. By the second week he couldn't wait to go back. In the words of an 11 year old approaching 6th grade...\this was the best summer ever!\ We did the before and after care which was an additional cost. The entire camp worked great for our family. In addition, CLPD offers other great programs for the entire family. All which can be paid and reserved online. Really enjoy the CL community.

Only have lived in Crystal Lake for a month and park district is awful. I knew we were moving and inquired about registering for extended care before it was open. I was told repeatlyhtat I could NOT sign up until we closed. I asked if it fills up and was told no not really. Conveniently when we did close- that day I went to sign up and it woods creek school is waitlisted. Their is no lottery system and families who have been here in the past get first dibs. This is ridiculous other districts have a great lottery systems in place and busing to other schools. WORST first impression of this district for being new. Other daycares in the area know this and then jack up the prices. Truly wish we would have been in an area with a more flexible and fair park district.

I am really disappointed Crystal Lake is so behind the rest of the cities in the area in regards to being able to make reservations online. One has to go to the office if a reservation is needed. So for those of us who work from 8am to 4:30 an hour away, there is no chance of ever getting anything done there. Crystal Lake just doesn't cater to single parents or working parents. Very disappointed.
