Northside’s doctors will save your life, then Northside’s Billing will make you wish they hadn’t. The Pros: The facilities are nice, and the doctors have done a good job for us. In an emergency, this is most important. However ... The Cons: They try to collect payment AS YOU’RE SITTING SICK OR INJURED IN THE HOSPITAL. They haven’t even billed your insurance yet, and they want you to pay up. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY WHEN YOU’RE ALL DRUGGED UP IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM! Then, before they have billed your insurance, they send your bill to a collections agency, never having sent you an invoice with the insured amount taken off your invoice. (Picture of letter attached.) For us, they are 100% in network, and we had already hit our annual out-of-pocket maximum, so we owe them NOTHING. In fact, we’ve contacted them multiple times and they keep saying they’re “waiting on a response” from the insurance company, and they want us to pay the full amount in the meantime to avoid the collections process (that they’ve already sent us to). Remember, we owe them nothing! And this has been going on for over six months now. Unfortunately, this happened the last time we had to use their emergency services, too. That was a couple years ago and we had a different insurance company that time. So either they have no idea how to bill insurance, or they’re extremely crooked. I don’t see a third option. But hey, Northside, feel free to try to explain.

I've had a great experience here twice. First time, my dad went to the ER for stomach pain, and he ended up in the surgery room, getting his gallbladder removed. Not the best situation but I was so pleased with the treatment; from housekeeping to the medical team. They answered all my questions and follow up on all my concerns about my dad's health. Second time, I gave birth to my second child during Covid. Everyone followed the safety protocol and made me feel safe. They prepared me for labor as if it was my first time and gave instructions on what to do if my pain increased, etc... The medical team was at another level. I loved them so much they made me forget my fear for epidural.

Visited today. Waited in one location for over an hour to be told the machine was down, went to another building to sit in another waiting room and then left without getting x-rays because they tried to get me to sign something with no breakdown of costs to pay over 500 dollars for simple x-rays! I knew better, have had multiple MRI, CT scans at other facilities that have cost less! Confirmed after getting home my insurance covers x-rays 100%.

I had neck/spine surgery on October 28, 2020. Excellent service and care. From the time I walked onto the 3rd floor, the entire process was executed flawlessly by the hospital and staff. Very well organized, managed and executed. I had to spend the night on the 3rd floor surgical unit and over the time I was there I had 3 nurses from 3 different shifts and they were all amazing, caring and compassionate. Excellent care and professionalism by the entire Northside staff. Just so impressed by the level and quality of care and service. We have a first class hospital in our community. Dr. Keith Osborn and his anesthesiologist were an amazing team and demonstrated such skill and grace working on my spine and around my spinal cord! I would tell you the anesthesiologists name but he did such a good job that I can't remember his name! My gratitude and thanks go to the anesthesiologist too!

Honestly would not give it a one star. Absolute worse experience. Staff is neglectful, arrogant, and lack any professionalism. They ignored everything I said, they didn't care that I was in immense pain. I understand ER work is not always easy, and can be daunting and exhausting. This was as if they went out if there way to neglect my pain, and they laughed outside my door making fun of me for being in immense pain. Horrible horrible people.
