This place is the bomb if you’re looking for musical education at the highest level. Fantastic professors and extensive facilities that are well maintained. Both the old building and Lenfest sits right in the center of the city with easy access to all amenities. Their Summerfest program is also simply incredible. A very unique environment that puts you with fellow talented musicians with just the right amount of rigor and excitement. RECOMMENDED

Please add my father, Walter Hautzig, to your list. He graduated from Curtis after a year in Palestine at the Jerusalem Academy, which rescued him from the Nazis courtesy of Emil Hauser. He was in the same class as Leonard Bernstein. Walter Hautzig had a long and magnificent career, and was the first American artist to perform in China after government relations were opened. He deserves recognition. He passed away 3 years ago, on Jan. 30, 2017, and was forever grateful to Curtis, which gave him his Steinway piano. Thank you.

There are multiple free recitals here throughout the week. I attended percussionist, Sijia Huang’s graduation recital and thoroughly enjoyed the music by her and accompanists. I plan to attend another recital during my visit to Philadelphia. I recommend attending a live performance, having dinner nearby, and taking a stroll through the park.
