I have just joined Oxford Academy, and even though everything is virtual, I am enjoying it very much, so thank you Mrs. Houston and all of the OA staff members. I hope you have a great day! Stay safe and healthy.

My son was there, then it was not so easy for him to adjust his mind and attitude during 7th and 8th grade. However, after all he enjoyed his school life with Good Fellows and was learned a lot from this Oxford Academy.

From a pragmatic perspective, Oxford Academy serves it's community well in that it maintains the brightest of what AUHSD has to offer and in turn, gives prestige and a level of fame to the district. As a school, it serves well in tracking; it's competitive environment fosters academic growth in conjunction with stress and unerring student standards. As a parent, the question you should ask yourself before enrolling your student is \what do I want them to value?\. Oxford offers a physically safe learning environment, with a long history of peace and zero fights on campus. But it also mantains an academic and social status quo, and focuses on numbers as opposed to student growth. It's undoubtedly a majority STEM school; what do you want your child to come away with after 4 years? To value grades or knowledge? Oxford offers an opportunity for students meet other accomplished, high achieving peers, but does not have the safety net of other high schools. It deserves it's ranking, but it's scores are not a measure of the school, but instead an inevitability of what happens when you put a bunch of high achieving children together with little guidance. Poor administration and poor funding means it relies on students and teachers to do the work of learning. The question is, is the name recognition worth it?

I literally just joined this school and I already hate it. Everyone talks about Oxford like it’s such a good school. If you can’t handle stress and the mounds of homework they give you, don’t go to this school. I thought I could and I was definitely wrong sooooooooooooooooo
