What a team! I had the pleasure of working with Altered for the Altar for my wedding in October last year and they did not disappoint. My dress fit amazingly and they really worked hard to make sure I was comfortable. I would highly recommend!

Altered for the Altar is the place to get your alterations! It is a modern twist to a family owned bridal business. Ruth and Rylee are professional, kind and just outstanding at what they do. Their team is a direct reflection of them too. I felt comfortable, special and excited. I originally came in because I was concerned my dress would not zip, as I have been losing weight. It ended up zipping! But, they added fine details like hemming my dress and adding cups that will make it perfect! Altered for the Alter is transparent and honest. They let you know what exactly needs to be done, share what they think would be best and tell you cost up front before they start working on it. If you need under garments or want something custom or altering a vintage gown they are the ones to trust. Even if you just need something minor, it is worth it!
Ruth and her staff went beyond our expectations to take care of my daughters dress, even after postponing due to the virus. 4 days before the wedding they did the final adjustments and my daughter looked stunning! Thank you Altered for the Altar for making a difficult time so much less stressful! I give this place an A!
Can't recommend them enough! I had 8 weeks to go until the wedding, and needed a bustle and my dress let out some. Ruth and her team got me in right away and worked with my limited timeline. AFTA is amazing at what they do, and take care of their brides.
I originally purchase my dress from a boutique in Tulsa, OK, and had taken my dress to their local recommended tailor. After ordering the size the boutique recommended, I took it to the tailor and after 30 minutes of struggling, we were unable to get the dress to fit. I left the appointment in tears, and decided, on the recommendation of two friends who had used AFTA, to take my dress here instead (I live in Rockwall, TX, so this was more convenient as well). During my first appointment they were able to zip the dress up (though it was a bit tight) and quelled any anxiety I had about not being able to wear my dress for my wedding day. They saw how worried I was about my dress situation, and were nothing but supportive and kind. I left the appointment feeling worlds better than I did coming in. They were able to fit the dress to me perfectly, I would recommend them to all brides!
