I arrived to Phoenix house in November 2017, and I spent Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years there. For every holiday they make sure to celebrate it normally, with lots of food and even presents! I left the day of my 17th birthday. Before coming to Phoenix house I was a very troubled teenager using a handful of drugs weekly, sometimes daily. When I arrived I told my counselor Susanna I can’t see myself getting any better and that I don’t want to get better. I went along with the program and all of the sudden I felt happier, more confident, less withdrawals, and I finally found myself! It’s interesting how much you change while being in treatment little by little every day, and you hardly notice it. When you get to the middle of treatment it’s so much easier, you have a routine, you’ve established friendships and relationships with the staff, you’ve learned about yourself, and by then you’ve probably accomplished a handful of goals. Of course you’re going to have hard days in here, it’s not possible to have a great day every day, but my motto I learned while here was, “it’s a bad moment, not a bad day.” I have now been back to Phoenix house a handful of times to talk to the girls and revisit with the staff. The facility has been renovated and looks amazing now, that I’m almost jealous! I have continued my sobriety and I’m now studying to be a ER nurse at Stephen F Austin. Although it’s been 3 years since I was admitted, I’m so happy to have changed my course in life and without Phoenix house I absolutely would not be who I am today. If you’re looking for addiction treatment program, this is definitely where you want to be.

I can never find the right words to describe how grateful I am for my experience in Phoenix House and the staff. My addiction was so out of hand at such a young age that i thought i wouldn't make it past the age of 18, but Phoenix House helped me think and act otherwise. \It works if you work it\ is a statement i thought was silly but has so much truth to it and till this day i stand by it. I've had the opportunity to return to the facility and share my story to staff and clients that were in residential at the moment. I am now 4 years clean going on 5, about to receive my associates degree and plan on transferring to UTA and enroll in the Bachelor of Social Work program.

I was reading the reviews one night looking at this place, trying to find a rehab for myself cause I needed help. Phoniex house worked me in soon and made room for me even though they didn't have room. The staff was nice and what I love the most is that they only focus on the good, when you have a bad day, they focus on the good and help you through it. I recommend this place. I went here back in 2018 and I haven't used my drug of choice since. I think it's pretty safe as well, regarding not being able to have access to substances. They don't allow just any visitors so it's safe in that way. Call and talk to susana. She can help you figure out if this is best for you or your child. It's definitely way nicer than the other adolescent rehab facilities in Dallas.

spent 64 days in there and the staff did everything in their power to not let me leave. i had multiple altercations with the staff, some staff were very disrespectful to me and completely unfair. The living conditions were not the best there was a bug infestation at my time there, the place smells like a dirty motel and the beds are terribly hard and uncomfortable. i would never go back there. However my experience there did help me in the sense that being there was hell for me and has motivated me to not use drugs so that i will never have to experience a place like that again. They try to keep girls in there as long as they can so the beds remain full even if you have done everything in there u need to. Witnessed many girls run from the facility during my time there. Some of the staff care and some of them are just there for a paycheck. i would not recommend anyone to the phoenix house.
