The Esperanza Sober Living Apartments has been a true blessing for me in my journey through recovery. I had my own furnished apartment and was also allowed to bring my dog, which is such a valuable need when struggling with mental health and addiction issues. Proven evidence shows how pets can help a person manage their mental health, which goes hand in hand with addiction. I stayed exactly two years (longer than I expected because I enjoyed it so much) which provided me the needed time to stay focused and engaged in living a sober life. The community, staff, and weekly 12-step meetings certainly help keep you in the recovery mindset with accountability and some structure, but ultimately it's up to you to get involved and start giving back. I highly recommend the Esperanza! Don't let Jon W. fool you -- he deeply cares and as long as you follow the rules and do what you say you're going to do, then you'll love it here. Thank you Jon, Terry & Steve.

As a young professional in early sobriety, the Esperanza is exactly the type of sober living that I was looking for. I was not looking for a babysitter, someone to look after me 24/7, I was looking for a place that could provide accountability. Accountability was exactly what I found at The Esperanza. Here, you are able to live in your own apartment, rather than share a single home/bedroom with up to 8 other people. While there are requirements to live here (drug/alcohol testing, on site meetings, etc.) they are in the spirit of accountability. Sobriety is not achieved by someone watching your every move and making sure you don't drink/use; it is achieved by someone making the decision that they will not use mind altering substances. The Esperanza allows you that freedom to choose sobriety for yourself. I have been very happy at my time at The Esperanza, and would definitely recommend this place to anyone in early recovery, especially those who still have career and personal obligations outside of recovery. Some of the perks: separate living space, flexible schedule, pet friendly, great sense of community.

The Esperanza is a great place to live. The word Esperanza means hope and expectation. One can certainly hope and expect to be supported, safe, and to be well on their way to a better life when joining this close-knit community. The property is well maintained. The residence are friendly and welcoming. The directors are caring, kind, compassionate, and very professional. This is a place to heal and learn how to live sober, all the while making some awesome friends along the way.

The Esperanza has been a tremendous blessing and the ideal place to traverse my journey through recovery. Having my own apartment that is pet friendly has made all the difference in the world for me. The community is wonderful and I am proud and grateful to call this home. The accountability and structure that are provided through the administration of this community is excellent for any individual in recovery.

After treatment, I needed a place to live while I learned how to live a life that didn't include alcohol. I definitely needed some accountability to do that. What I did not want was a place where I'd have to share a room, be assigned chores, or not be able to live with my pets. So traditional halfway houses were out of the question. What I was looking for, I found at The Esperanza. Here, I had my own fully furnished apartment (cable and wi-fi included!), some accountability, community support, and meetings. I've lived in apartments and houses, yet I never felt as close to my neighbors then as I felt with my neighbors at The Esperanza. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to learn how to live a sober life in a safe and accepting community.
