Well first an far most turtle gang gang lol but naw I give Turtle Creek gave me the chance. An in those 28 day I've learned how to stay away from the people I used to hang with. An I'm just saying that I owe Turtle Creek for my new life of being clean 10 months now.

Really a ridiculous place. They release addicts with no clothes and needing a bath. They are not about helping people but more about putting on a good show for donors. All of the positive reviews are years old- something has definitely happened here for the worse. Do not let your loved ones get involved here.

I give this recovery center 2.5 stars. Unfortunately, this is the ONLY free rehab in the entire state of Texas. This is a problem within itself. That being said, you can’t expect the best from a free resource. For what it is, it serves a purpose. There are people there who genuinely want to help and do their best, and then there are some who do not understand addiction at all or are not suitable to be working here. PROS - Free medical care - Assistance with getting on unemployment and food stamps - Park outings on Saturdays - Patients are fed very well and have the opportunity to cook for others - 28 days to focus on recovery - 12 step program continued support after rehab - super cute pitbull puppy that will steal your heart CONS - There are a mix of court ordered people, homeless that just want a place to sleep, and self admitted patients. So there can be issues with some patients sneaking in drugs or alcohol (but if found out, they are removed) - there is a very mentally unwell man that teaches the majority of the classes - no visitation due to covid - only 5 min phone calls 1x a day with your loved ones - Not the best guidance or resources on how to actually recover (but you can make it work if you try really hard) - Some of the people working there are very rude and dismissive to the patients - They allow patients to watch unsuitable shows such as Breaking Bad (which I find ironic) - One counselor had trouble actually listening to her patients responses to her questions and didn’t uphold patient confidentiality, and talks to them like they’re in pre school All in all, you’ll get what you put into it, but you’ll have to work pretty hard to get true benefit out of it. It’s not awful for being free, but it could definitely be improved. If improved, it has true potential.
