My son and I brought a cat that was found downtown to the HS 12/24/19 in the event she was chipped or had an owner looking for her. She was not chipped but I knew I had to give an owner a chance to try and find her if they were searching. I doubted anyone was looking for her as the collar she had on appeared to be a kitten collar that was extremely too small for her. I called often checking in on her and the staff was super nice and always patient with my check-ins. One of the staff members finally asked me if I was interested in adopting her once she was released to the adoption floor. They put my information with her packet and sure enough when she was ready for a home they called! The process was safe and communication was great. Kennedy is so, so loved and living the greatest life with her sisters Mercy (Shih Tzu) and Minaret (tuxedo)! Thank you for all that you do HSSC!

I'm in southern Illinois, it was well worth the trip North to get my cat, Chance. Even with the Covid pandemic going on, they worked with me to adopt my baby last August.

I understand sometimes it can be a long process but things went smooth and easy. I adopted Moe (kitty) about a year ago since I was between jobs when I realized my other kitten needed a friend to keep him busy. Things worked out very well at home and I saved a really great kitty. He was UTD on all his vaccines and neutered so it really saved me a bunch of money instead of buying from a breeder. Glad I made the addition to my home ️

This is a great place to get the pet you want. We wanted a orange tabby cat. We found him there. He is a sweet heart. He's so smart. We got him February 24th last year. We named him ️ Sunny.

Adopted my cat during covid and their procedures were both safe and easy. The staff were very helpful in describing personalities and helping find the best fit for me. It’s been about 7 months since I adopted and I could not be more in love with my sweet boy. So thankful for this organization!
