Grandpa's buried here very quiet well respected kept cementary
I drove an hour to sit with my grandpa on his birthday, hours say they are open until 8. Got there at 6 and the gates were shut and locked. Should be clearly stated on the website that visiting hours are dusk til dawn. Also, not all graves are kept very well. I’ve had to trim around my grandfathers every visit and a lot of personal items on other sites are always knocked over. I fix every site I can.
Very beautiful place
An immaculate National Cemetery holding 54,000 of our nation's heroes. It is one of a few having its own Honor Squad assuring that no veteran is interred without full military honors. A veteran from every American war including the Revolutionary War is here including five Medal of Honor recipients, 33 from the War of 1812, the largest number of Colored Troops of the Civil War anywhere and a number who have given their last full measure. While the National Cemetery Administration is the highest ranking federal agency, the Dayton National Cemetery is one of only 14 of 136 to have been awarded Shrine Status. It is Ohio's Arlington.
