I do not know how to say enough how much I appreciated and cherish the doctors and midwives here. I don't have any babies, but I do have other needs that go beyond a yearly exam. Sabrina, Dr. Duncan, and Dr. Oats are outstanding clinicians and humans beings. Is it perfect in terms of time management? Not always. Do I have I advocate for myself? You betcha- that's how doctor's offices work (they're humans, not mind readers). Do I feel respected, loved, accepted? Without reservation. Is this a group of B.A. women who support other women? Without a doubt. Have I ever had a less than ideal visit? Sure. Same goes at my PCP, dentist, the post office, my job, the grocery store, and life in general. I'm grateful for this place and the consummate professionalism and understanding of my needs as a woman. Would not go anywhere else.

I faced some unique challenges in my pregnancy and requested some adaptations to some procedures (that did not endanger the baby). If you are like me and are not a \typical\ patient, this practice may not be for you. While they are clearly competent and experienced, I was met with raised eyebrows and outright condescension. I was surprised and disappointed. After a couple of appointments I changed practices to one that I felt showed more compassion and empathy.

I cannot recommend this practice enough! Catherine delivered my first baby last week and it was all I could do to keep myself from asking her to take a blood oath to deliver all of my future babies. She was just fantastic and we had a very smooth experience in her capable hands. I moved to Atlanta right before COVID and was totally overwhelmed trying to pick a new OBGYN when I got pregnant. I loved that AGO is an all female practice and that I would have a midwife delivery at Emory Decatur, which was one of my top hospital choices. Looking back now, this was the single best decision I made during my pregnancy. Throughout my pregnancy, I always felt very well cared for at AGO. I never had a feeling that I was being rushed out of the office and every doctor or midwife I met with took the time to answer all of my questions and give me helpful information. And given my husband could not come into appointments with me, the friendliness and warmth of the staff really went a long way.

Just noticed that I missed an email from past appointments oct-nov 2021 and didn’t want to miss the opportunity to encourage women to give this office a visit. My visit was for an annual and IUD removal consultation. Had my IUD been put in properly with shortened strings hanging for ease of removal, I would have had one visit taking care of everything I needed; however, my previous OB(out of state) did not follow standard practice. As nervous as I was having to come back a second time, my first doctor literally recommended Dr. Bonk as an “expert” in removing IU devices inserted such as mine. Dr Bonk and all three women with me through two more visits remained positive and so clear in communication and the whole experience was painless. Everyone I encountered at this office across three visits were professional and genuinely kind. I’ve recommended all of the women I know. Also I have to shout out the high level of diversity and the peaceful aura in the whole office. I love being a woman.

Each provider I met throughout my pregnancy was even more wonderful than the last - I would have been happy to have any of them deliver my son. The combination of OBs and midwives provides a nice range of perspectives and experience, and all of the nurses, techs, etc. made me feel very well taken care of as a first time mom (in a pandemic no less)!
