After seeing an ad, I decided to get their deep dish Sicilian pizza (pepperoni, Italian ham, spinach, seasoning). The pizza was truly delicious, the vibes in the restaurant were pretty great, the staff was friendly enough. So why only 4 stars? Value. I paid almost 30 for this pie. I'm willing to shell out for a premium product. But look at the picture...There's an okay amount of ham, but no pepperoni, not even that much spinach to speak of. I'm not the kind of person who wants my pizza loaded with toppings, but when there's less than one pepperoni per slice, we have a problem. Would I order again? Probably. But it also likely won't be a super regular thing either.

I have passed on this place a few time for lunch because parking can be a bit of a pain in the neck, but I finally mad it inside. I was thrilled. It was totally worth dealing with the parking. The decor and music were eclectic and fun. The drink selection looked wonderfully adventurous, but since I was there for lunch. The iced tea was pretty good. I had heard that they had good sandwiches. I heard right. I tried the bambino. A blend of I don't know how many different meats, stringy cheese and just enough pizza sauce to bring the whole sandwich together. About halfway through the sandwich I was plenty full, but I got goal oriented and managed to finish it all. I then went back to work with a dopey smile on my face and a primal urge to lay idly in the sun. I'll be back. When I can enjoy the beverage selection and when I am ready to tackle another amazing sandwich.
I love everything about Donnie's. The food is incredible - tons of veggie friendly options available! The drinks are great and the owner is groovy.
The pizza is so delicious but the service is unspeakably atrocious. Its like that really good-looking boyfriend who is so bad to you but you just can't stay away. Recently we ordered a pizza and were so excited to go pick it up. We waited longer than the advised wait time and when we arrived, everyone behind the bar and in the kitchen looked at each other and asked, \Did you make it\. \No. Did you make it.\ \No. Did you?\. Then the bartender looks at us and flatly says, \We didn't make it.\ That was it. We let a few weeks go by before trying again. We then ordered a half-and-half large pizza. When we went to pick it up, they had made a personal pan pizza. How this is so difficult to get right? We will miss the pizza but can't take the disappointment anymore.
