Always a fun time at Delaplane Cellars. They're open for business and you can choose to sit on the patio or in their tent. We chose the patio with a fire pit and it was such a fun time. We took our own blankets but they've been offering blankets to guests who need one. The one thing I was a little disappointed in was the fact that the Virginia Sampler no longer has the whipped feta which was one of my favorites. Get the mulled wine. It's so delicious and tastes like the holidays.

The 4 stars is for the ambiance and the food. The wine is ok, but Virginia still doesn't measure up against many other regions. The tasting flight included 2 whites and 2 reds. One of the whites was very nice. The Chardonnay was ok. The reds left a lot to be desired. Seems VA does white wines much better than reds. The cheese and salami plate was excellent. The bread that came with it looked amazing, and it was warm and fresh, but lacked taste. The plate paired well with the wines and the addition of the olives and pickled items, and the hot plum chutney, was delightful. Best of all was just sitting there with a beautiful view, tranquil, and soaking it all in. Definitely worth a visit.

Great wine, great view, beautiful day. Guest experience manager and our waiter were very informative about the wines and offered us samples of other varieties they knew we would like. Certainly coming back to spend more time.

Highly highly recommend Delaplane Cellars. The location, scenery and setting are divine. The building itself it a newer build and is very elegant. The wine is so tasty. The service and staff are amazing. Our group spent a day in the private tasting room and with wine-maker Rick in the barrel room. It was quite a treat and simply-put a perfect day. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would! Can't wait to go back!

We stopped by after going to an orchard. Ordered merry medley and red wine flight and then came back home with a bottle of 2015 Williams Gap! Very friendly and a beautiful place.
