I went to the POW event weekend & they have a lot of civil war reenactors. One part of the fort is for only bat tours. The rest of the fort you can walk around & you can use the stairs to get on the top. You can see the bay from the top. The fort do have cannons. There is picnic tables but you will have to take the trash with you. We paid 24 for the ferry for 2 people to go to the island. The ferry ride is around 10min from & to the island.

We booked tickets online but had to cancel once we arrived because on the day of the tour the weather was bad, water was choppy and it was windy and cold. We booked the first ferry at 10a.m. We arrived early and found parking by the park. There are plenty of parking slots. I did not see a meter. The office is located at the park. Bathrooms with flushing toilets available. You are allowed 2.5 hours at Fort Delaware. at the office, they have a park program. They did not have enough copies so they ask you to take a picture of it. I requested and got a refund for my ticket. I will come back in 2021. The ferry run with a few passengers
