Great magazine and news selection. Could not find what I was looking for at other stores but DELRAY News had it. Sales lady was helpful and courteous. Happy that there are still stores like this in business.

The woman that works at this store is completely wretched. She brought my little boy to tears during the Halloween on the Ave event today. She refused to give him candy and yelled at him because he did not have a costume. We were driving by and he really wanted to go. He did not have a costume and already felt out of place but still wanted to participate in trick or treating. We used to live in Delray and I felt bad for not remembering the event. It would have taken too long to drive home and return with a costume, as we have moved, so I let him go in the spirit of Halloween...for children...without the costume. He felt really out of place at first but everyone was very nice and accepting of him. The nice people at Lemongrass even gave us a bag for him to collect candy. The woman at the Delray News and Tobacco Center took it upon herself to make my son feel horrible for not having a costume, yelled at him, and refused to give him candy. This is an event for children...as adults we should remember this and not attack small children. I did not expect an adult to verbally assault a child during an event for children. This woman and this store should no longer participate in such events if they cannot remember that these events are for children, and should occur without verbal abuse of the children the event is for...regardless of what you think of their participation- they are there and that is all that matters. She ruined the event for my child and put him into tears. We had to leave because he was so ashamed by her words. That woman is wretched and ugly for doing such a thing to a small child and I would never buy anything to support such a dispicable human being. Buy your news elsewhere!
