Former roommate incurred a large utility debt at previous housing and when he took over our utilities and then left a year later we were forced to pay his debt because Denton Municipal wouldn’t listen to us. Apparently we had been paying off his debt instead of our own bill and they said we hadn’t been paying and owed a lot. Also worst customer service I’ve interacted with in my entire life. 0/10 made multiple housemates cry.

They claim we used 314kwh yesterday... For a tiny apartment, heaters on 72, lights were off and the tv hasn't even been plugged back in since the rolling blackouts. We typically use just above 40 kwh and that was with the tv on, things plugged in, lights on, dishwasher running, washer and dryer running. Please tell me how we used so much when NOTHING WAS ON. DONT MOVE TO DENTON BECAUSE THEIR ELECTRIC IS A RIP OFF!!!!

If we're doing preventive rolling blackouts it would at least be nice if you would post a schedule so people wouldn't get caught in the pitch black in the middle of a shower.
