I wasn't sure what to expect. As I turned through village streets, I nearly drove past this simple farm in the woods. All closed, One is able to walk and read poems written while here or thinking of here. Time stands still. Except for the orchard, the farm remains as it may have been in 1900-1911 when the Frosts lived here. Being an adolescent when we read his poems in school, I was moved back to a simpler time.

The tour guides are amazing! So much passion and knowledge. The grounds are beautiful and though we couldn't go in the home I felt I definitely got my value out of my visit

Even in the off season with the historic home of Robert Frost closed the grounds and trails offer a wonderful visiting experience. It's truly like being in any of his master works written during his Derry years. At various points on the farm, signs are posted with his poems, all located at points that echo the words. My favorite is as the wood trail separates into two \the road less taken\ greets you to read and ponder. The snow was deep and snow shoes made the experience possible. Volunteers worked pruning Frost's Apple trees. A very good way to spend a sunny winter day.

Robert Frost is my favorite poet, so this was a must-see on our recent New England trip. There is a small museum/interpretive center where visitors can learn about his life and read some of his work. The trail around the farm perimeter is worth the half-hour or so walk. There are several stops with his poetry and the stories behind them, and the field, woods, and stream are very picturesque. This was a beautiful spot with autumn color as well.

There's an apple tree that was there when Bob lived there. Alotta people don't know this, but Robert preferred to be called Bob by his friends. Anyways, the apples off this tree are the best you'll ever taste.
