We have had DFT Security service for over ten years and this year I had to call them twice for help because our system seems goes out when it rains or is really windy and we lose power or something... I ask before the service call happens how much the call will cost. The first time in March 2015 the gentleman that I spoke with said he thought it would be an easy relatively cheap fix, and it was, 70 for new batteries. Now we had hoped that would make it so we don't get any more avoidable calls to the police department(which are becoming costly). So in September when we got some ugly weather and the false alarms began to mount AGAIN, (costing upwards of 100), I called, I said it was giving us the same problems AKA false alarms. I asked how much the visit would cost and if it would be covered because this is the second call for this sort of thing, I was advised that they didn't k now and that we would see when the technician came out. Then the technician did a bunch of checking of wires and said he thought it might be a wiring issue or the old motion detector. He replaced the motion detector and I asked him if we would be charged for this or if there was any coverage because this was the second time we had this type of an issue. His answer was "I don't know." Which seems odd since I was later told by a snippy customer service lady that they "always charge 95 for the first 1/2 hour"... Wow! The whole bill was over 200 to replace a 70 part(interesting that it seems to be the same price as the batteries, which probably only cost them 15...) Needless to say, she("customer service" lady I talked to) did not care that I was not informed of their exorbitant pricing techniques, nor did she offer any sort of discounted rate. So I guess I would tell anyone who is looking for a security company, to pick one who cares about their long time customers and doesn't just rake them over the coals for any extra cash they can extort AFTER the work is done.

Go elsewhere. Only had two interactions with them and both times I was left thinking, do they want my business or not? Poorly ran and lacking people skills which make me question if you really need them, will they be there? Much better service from other providers in the past.
Had a great service from these guys . they really have their act together and been in buisness for 30 years
