Such a cute ferry! If you don't mind a wait (5-10 mins) and 5 cash each way, then it's worthwhile to try it out at least once. We enjoyed the ride. :)

Well this was fun I have lived in the area for 30 years and never taking the ferry and we decided to do so when going from Leesburg to Gaithersburg. It was really fun only took a few minutes not a long wait
Whites Ferry was awesome? Didn't even realize at first we had left. Operator was super nice and helpful. Had delicious burger and onion rings before crossing.
Ferry attendants are NOT wearing masks! They breathe on the drivers when collecting fees! Maryland LAW: The Governor's expanded Executive Order requires all Marylanders over the age of five to wear face coverings in the public spaces of all facilities and businesses across the state, to include any work area where interaction with others is likely. Response to the owner's comments: The driver and I were in our car, on the ferry, with our masks on, prepared to pay the attendant. He approached the car without a mask. When we asked him where it was, he told us that he had one and pointed to the scarf on his neck. We asked him to put it on. On the ferry, there were no clear instructions on how to hand over the payment. Your 1st priority is the health and wellbeing of your customers during this rapidly spiking disease. PLEASE have your workers wear a mask at ALL times whenever they deal with the public. It's for their health as well as those of your customers.
Pleasant afternoon motorcycle ride from metro dc. Grab a burger at the local grille. Surprisingly good on brioche bun. Fun to watch the ferry traverse the Potomac. Big open space, masks, and plenty of social distance
2 to take a bicycle on the ferry. Nice little place to drink beer and camp. Confederate statue honoring "heroes."
Even though it's a short ride across the Potomac River it was still pretty cool for our first time. They let you get out of your vehicle and stand on the ferry as it's going across which one child it really enjoyed
Great place for a ride. Rent canoes and have great food too
