I had never adopted an animal before and was hoping it would be an enjoyable experience. I had seen the dream power small animal adoption fairs taking place in petsmart and had been interested in getting a friend for our rabbit. So we decided rather than try craigslist or a petshop we would try adoption this time so that if the rabbit wasnt a good fit, there would be suppport and hopefully they would help us to achieve a better fit with another rabbit. That is not the case. Let me start by saying that they have no phone number. So everything is done by email and its just unprofessional. The paperwork they have you do to adopt the rabbit is all for show. They didnt check any of the references or my landlord or anything. (The rabbit I adopted was in their shelter for a landlord refusal) so youd think they would check this stuff. Thats not what really bothered me though. What really bothered me was that when I finally did get someone to call me and let them know it wasnt a good fit, they didnt offer tips, suggestions, ask any questions or offer any type of support.I asked if The money that we paid for her could be put towrds tryong to find a better fit for us? And they said no. I responded by saying "so basically what you are saying is you take peoples money, wont help them or try to establish a better fit, you just tell them to bring the rabbit back and screw off?" To which she replied, "yep. Thats basically how it works." So I definitely wouldn't recommend them. They are no better than craigslist. The only difference is craigslist doesnt make you sign a contract saying that you will give the animal back to them and only them or face legal action. Which sucks because I now see what their organization is like and I dont want to send this poor bunny back to them. People are always saying adoption is best, adopt a pet, but from my one experience with adoption, I am left with a sour taste in my mouth.
