Very beautiful park. They have multiple hiking trail options, from rock climbing to mountainous trails and some easy paved trails. The park is very clean, Water is clean. Very quiet and peaceful. The water was pretty low in the lake so there were some interesting things to see down by the lake. The park is dog friendly. Pretty easy to find the park, plenty of parking spaces. And it was free of fees during COVID.

I hadn't even heard of this park until a couple days ago, but it has now become one of my favorites to hike. With a few inclines and slopes, you can enjoy an overlook and be near the water at this trail. The view is gorgeous! I saw so many doggos walking along the trail and playing in the water. There are also informative posts as you walk about what animals you might encounter in that area. This was the best way to see the seasons changing colorfully, which is a rare sight in South Texas.

Ten stars, twenty stars... All the stars! Well kept park. team was respectful, bright, and present throughout the park doing small tasks that obviously contribute to how well it is maintained. Nice bathrooms, numerous extra portapots. So many activities. The pictures online don't do it justice and there definitely isn't much documented about the place keeping it a well hidden gem! The views were amazing.

This place is the perfect backdrop for hiking, walking, climbing and taking pictures. I even got engaged at this park!

Was an awesome time with the pups! We were there on an overcast day which was perfect so we didn't get too hot. I'd recommend the 2nd parking lot to the left if you have dogs so that you can walk the river bank and climb some not so hard to get through rocks. Also being able to hang out on the rocks near the water was awesome. You can throw some chairs down and really enjoy nature. Loved it! P.S. we didn't need a reservation just came around 9am and had no issues with being overcrowded.
