Left a store an hour away that I thought I'd be buying a guitar from (their website showed a host of guitar I was interested in). Instead, after being totally ignored as a customer, I walked out and headed south. I knew about Dube's because I'd driven by the store. It's a smaller shop than the one I just left and for some reason, I thought they wouldn't have what I wanted. Boy, was I wrong!! Two sweet Danelectros sitting on stands and a couple of amps that were what I was looking for in my quest to \electrify\ my guitar-playing. Even better, Tom Dube is a genuine guy, someone who doesn't discriminated against guitar players who aren't professional musicians (I am not one of those, for sure). But, I had 600 bucks I was willing to plunk down on a guitar and amp. Ended up with the Danelectro 59X. What a sweet little guitar! Plays like the Fernandes strat I last owned (Mexican-made in the 1990s) and sold to visit my late son in California. The Vox was a real surprise. I was in the market for an Orange practice amp, but the Vox is another amazing British amp company. This Valvetronix Vt40 is an amp that is a practice amp that I'll be able to use when I get ready to gig out in the future. What I especially liked was Tom saying to me that he had a lesson but to \take my time\ and play the guitar through the amp. That's what really sold me, being able to play what I ended up buying. Would recommend Dube's to anyone looking for a new guitar. Also, thinking about signing up for lessons with Tom in the future.
