This is a fun and inexpensive place to visit. We drove over from Galena and took our round trip ride. I love the history of this elevator and the fact that they have a turnstile from the 1893 Chicago Worlds Fair. The kids enjoyed it as well, and when we were done with the elevator, we visited a number of stores at the base of the hill. The view of three states is amazing. We caught it late fall, so it was more brown, but it was still a little colorful and fun to explore.

This place is awesome! Back in the day the man that lived in the house petitioned to the city to build the small track because without it, it would take him an hour to get home. They approved it and he built the track! It's now the worlds smallest railroad tracks in the United States (maybe the world). It's 3 a person for round trip and 1.50 for one way. I believe children under 5 are free. It's a cool little attraction like activity to do. The scene at the top is breathtaking and the little ride up and down is pretty cool!
Great views that were well worth the price! Each of the two cars can seat 10 people, but people can go up/down by groups, even if their group is smaller than that. Be prepared to wait during busy hours but would still recommend!
This is a MUST for anyone visiting Dubuque!! We took the round trip and the views are breathtaking!! We were lucky to have a gardener riding down the other side, who stopped the cars midway to attend to a flowerbed! It was so cool!!
Aulii n I had great experience riding the car to top, once there what a amazing View, and the mood was inviting. A perfect place for a kiss...
