This is also a Thrifty location and I was not happy with the Malibu car with over 63K miles! Four times the engine light came on and the display show \Reduced engine power!\ Not good! This 2018 car should have been retired. I hope the car I've reserved for next week is better! The people are nice though.

In the world where coronavirus causes massive understaffing issues, delays, rushed improper customer service, Hertz really surprised me with my recent car rental experience. I've been with Hertz for over 6 years now, most of it as President Circle member and the recent exposure to Hertz Customer Service at Dulles International Airport was the best one I had so far. Zero issues, I was in and out with the car I wanted in less than 2 minutes, very friendly and professional service. Big thanks to Orit Abebe, you made my day, and the trip, I am really grateful. Dedicated Hertz Bus from terminal, easy to find for rental returns when coming back. Great location overall. Great vibe at customer service desk.
Horrible experience and RIP OFF. Arrived on a Saturday night. Employees were sleeping - both the truck driver and the gentleman at the Hertz office. We got a message that we had been upgraded to a small SUV. Arriving at the lot, we were told that there was literally only 1 car available - a massive Dodge Grand Caravan. If we wanted to downsize, we could come back another day. This wasn’t possible so we ended up spending a lot more on gas. The gentleman manning the desk was brusque and very unfriendly. “No. Come back tomorrow if you want” was about all he could say. Then, even worse, when we dropped the car off earlier today, we were told to leave it with the keys in it, as it was in the middle of the night. Hours later, we receive an email with the receipt. Turns out they added 70 for “satellite radio”, at 5 per day. No clue what it is and we 100% did not authorize or use this. What a SCAM.
PREPAID... AND STILL REJECTED?!?!?!?! Since I have to give at least 1 star I guess it will be because HERTZ WAS my go-to rental service. At least since, apparently, they have a new CREDIT CARD ONLY policy! I'm still trying to wrap my brain around being able to pre-pay for a rental (it took them a milli-second to deduct my account the cost of the rental) and the douche at the check-out counter telling me HERTZ will not rent me a car because I didn't have a credit card to book it with (It's going to take 7-10 days to refund my online payment!!!!!!!)?! So help me understand... I PREPAID for a vehicle, but because I choose not to have a CREDIT CARD, you will not accept my business? Thanks HERTZ/THRIFTY/DOLLAR for my the decision to NEVER do business with you again so EASY for me.
A painless checkout and check in. Staff was courteous and knowledgeable. I enjoyed the concept you find the car you want. I chose the Nissan Versa which was a phenomenal car for me. I was the only one. My only gripe was waiting for the shuttle at the terminal. It seems Hertz has only one shuttle while the other car rental have quite a bit. Keep up the good work.
