Exceeded my expectations. Worth every penny to maintain your copper.... highly recommend East Coast Tinning. I purchased antique copper pots on Marketplace-- a woman had inherited them from her grandmother in England and used them for decoration. I knew they just needed a little restoration and could be phenomenal workhorses in the kitchen. They were a rare find but definitely needed some love. I worked with Jim at East Coast Tinning to re-tin and shine the pots and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. He and his team are highly professional, responsive, and offer reasonable rates (turns out finding this service is actually quite difficult, and of the available tinning services, Jim is exceedingly reasonable.) He was able to tell me a bit about the origin of my copper and provide best-practice care instructions so they last a long time. When I got the package back, my jaw hit the floor... they are GORGEOUS. I wish I Had 'before' pictures to share, but I'm enclosing some of the 'after'. I feel like it was100% worth it to keep these copper pots in shape for cooking and not to mention, stunningly beautiful for display.

A thing of beauty- restored. The result of Jim’s impeccable work is so much better than “new.” It’s gorgeous and ready for another twenty years of the sautéing only tin-lined copper can do. Thank you, Jim!!

I received my refurbished pan a few days ago and I'm super happy with the results. It looks absolutely beautiful. It arrived carefully packaged and I really appreciated that you and your company used only recyclable and sustainable paper and cardboard to do so. I'm making a real effort to minimize the amount of plastic in my house and it's wonderful to see that others are too. (Now if we could only get Jeff Bezos on board!!).

I had bought a couple old pans and a pot from antique shops and wanted to get them refinished. Jim was great about communicating and kept my updated. I cannot believe he sent me the same pans back, they look brand new. If I come across more pots I will certainly send them in to get redone. I'm just blown away, thank you so much!

Jim did a great job restoring some antique copper cookware I received as a gift. It was a little unnerving mailing it to a stranger over the internet, but he kept me up to speed with what was happening, and sent them back in a timely manner looking better than new!

Sorry to say that after personally dropping off 3 pans Jan 6, I was told “about three weeks”. I called after 5 weeks and was told, by Jim, that he had to find 2 out of the 3 and he would “call me tomorrow”. He didn’t call me back, I needed to leave another message. He called me later that day and told me that my pans were mixed in with others that came in after mine and hadn’t been done yet. Great, now I’m more than double the quoted time for him to rush my order, which he already lost. I’ve lost my trust in him to care for my antique pans, and don’t even want him touching them at this point, if he’s going to be so careless. He ruined a once in a lifetime experience- I hope your’s is better!

Tough Sometimes

I was nervous initially due to it being my first time mailing a copper pan and experiencing the tinning process. The old pan was sent in the wrong direction for several days before being rerouted to Jim. I don’t think the pan is widely considered a collectible or anything; it was unusable and couldn’t find much info. I just wanted to rescue it and sensed there was potential. Jim sent back a totally different pan!! Wow!! Many thanks to Jim for creating such a beautiful pan and work of art!! If I can post photos here, I’ll come back to share. Highly recommended Jim at East Coast Tinning! Thank you ! Bella

Everything about East Coast Tinning is exceptionally wonderful. I could not be more enthusiastic about my refurbished copper pots. Jim Hamann is one of those treasures one rarely runs across in life.
