Great place we stumbled upon that had smooth sand and gentle waves the day we went. I'd definitely go back again. Just be sure you are a resident or else you'll get a 100 fine like I did because I didn't see the signs.

Haven't been all summer and it was nice to go back to one of the beaches from my youth. Found parking up front at 2pm, which almost never happens on Labor Day weekend...lovely day and the beach is very clean. Maybe a few too many people for my liking, but it is a Holiday weekend. I will be back soon.
How do you describe gently crashing waves, a sunlit ocean, pristine dunes, and the scent of sea? Heaven.
To be honest I was a little let down.... I visited this beach for the 1st time on a very nice summer weekend with my 3 Dachsunds. For some reason I was made to believe that this was a meeting place for these type of dogs or for dogs in general. Even though it was quite difficult and expensive finding a hotel room in the Hamptons on labor day weekend the 4 of us had a good time, Despite no dogs being allowed on that beach it looked really nice from the parking lot.
