Overall the best fishing experience my family has ever had. We plan our vacations around fishing every year. This year was the San Juan Islands. North Shore Charters was top notch. The boat the gear, the scenery and most of all the action was unbeatable. Its going to be hard to top this one.. Thanks Capt Marty and Sean!!
Two stars only because of the scenery and kindness of the employees. We do a lot of fishing in the south and wanted to catch a few cod up north. I know other charters were catching limits that week but we only managed one short. Caught a few rock fish and that was it over 5 hours. Burned maybe 3 gallons of fuel as all we did was go right around the corner. I know its fishing and not catching trust me but I paid for 5 hours so after the first couple of drops of nothing we should have hauled butt outside of the islands to other spots and tried different bottom. I know when I fish people down here I will find something biting or keep burning fuel until I find fish. This captian was not experienced enough to do that so I did not push we just kept fishing where he felt comfortable. When I say around the corner from deer harbour I mean 3/4 of a mile around the corner just to make that clear. Generally you will call a buddy or two as well and see where the fish are especially when you are not catching anything but no radio or cell comms at all. Nice boat and decent gear and wonderful scenery though passed the time.
