What an amazing tour! On 9/3/20 we got to see J Pod by the San Juan island. The Black Fish Boat is fun to ride in. Nice & quick. Thanks to the marine biologist onboard I learned what mating behavior looks like in Orcas. Check groupon for a good deal.

The Anacortes tour was AMAZING! We saw so many whales (yes, plural) I think it was 8 total, but honestly I don't remember. This MN girl had the time of her life! Thanks a bunch. Highly recommend this crew, TOP NOTCH.
We rented kayaks from here and went on our own late afternoon expedition - SO worth it! It was 65 for 4 hours and it took us about 2.5h to get to Pt. Doughty and back. We passed eagles, loads of seals and even saw one bull sea lion (!!). We only saw one other kayaker. The cool thing is the gorgeous enclave you’re kayaking to is only accessible by kayak, and we had it to ourselves. The water was very calm and safe when we went out, perfect for ocean kayaking beginners.
The captain and naturalist were both great. They taught us a lot about the wildlife in the area, and made for a fun excursion. We got to see orcas, a humpback, seals (I think they were seals), a few bald eagles, and a some other things. I had a great time and would definitely go again and recommend it to others.
We went on a tour with this company on 9/12/20 and it was phenomenal. Parking was a breeze, just follow the signs as its right behind their building. Our crew was Matt, Alex, and Angelica. The boat was very comfortable and spacious, and they definitely took social distancing/COVID-19 seriously. They had an interior cabin with a bathroom, snacks for sale, and plenty of room to move around. The boat has a great upper viewing deck with 360 degree views. We were concerned we would not be able to see anything with the smoke that had traveled into the area overnight from the wildfires. We were able to see three Killer Whales, a mother and her two calves and it was absolutely magical. We were so fortunate to even get to see them hunt and kill a porpoise, jumping out of the water multiple times!!! Our guide said she has only seen that one other time as well. This crew did a great job maximizing our time with the whales while maintaining a safe and responsible distance as to not disturb them. Our captain was very professional, gave us a VERY smooth and safe ride. Alex and Angelica spent extra time educating us about the whales, the area, and other animals, as well as answering any questions we had. I would highly recommend this tour company to anyone who is in the Anacortes region.
