**Review is for the Russell building, not the newer one** Trust the poor reviews and don't sign a lease here. My husband and I needed to find a place ASAP; the small deposit the shorter lease term, and free parking were the only reasons we ended up picking the Avalon over other complexes in the area. And we deeply regret it. You will see that people have been complaining about fire alarms going off all the time for the last few years and it is still true today. We moved in our unit in October 2020. The first night we moved in, the fire alarm went off at 3am. The alarm has gone off about 5 times in the last 2 months in the old Russell building. The management says they are working on resolving the issue and that it is for our own safety, but it makes me feel anything but safe. I am constantly waiting and anticipating the next fire alarm to go off. Many people have pets and small children, I can only imagine how traumatic it is for them to go through evacuating multiple times a month. This is only one of several issues we have experienced thus far in 2 months living here. For the amount of rent that we have to pay for this place and the experience we get, it is not worth it at all. We are already searching for a better, safer place to live.

Avalon renovated our apartment 9 - 11 November 2016. We’re amazed by the amount and quality of work the team managed to complete in only three days. Our kitchen was renovated with all new stainless steel appliances, both bathrooms were renovated, the water heater and all light features and door handles replaced. The team was very professional, friendly and respectful of our belongings and personal space. We’d welcome them back into our home at any time, and love our new kitchen and bathrooms.
