Gretchen and The Balanced Mind is by far the best Neurofeedback center in Oklahoma. If you haven't gotten your free consultation with her, I highly recommend it!

******BEWARE******** For those who are considering Neurofeedback, find someone that is more experienced and has more concern for their patients than money. My son and I came to Gretchen wanting her to help with one annoyance each. My son and I started experiencing negative results right away. Gretchen kept asking for more time to let her try different things. We just kept getting worse. I gave her 2 months and my son was still having manic meltdowns and is a ball of nerves the majority of the time (which was never a problem before). I have been suffering a deep depression, extreme stress, anxiety, and insomnia (which I didn’t have going in). My son and I had to go to a psychiatrist and get on medications to feel normal. Gretchen encouraged me to keep going and that she would give me 25 off a couple visits. She admitted to over stimulating the wrong area of our brains for the last 2 months. I don’t see this as a reasonable resolution. All she did was experiment on us for 2 months taking 2,000 for making us worse than when we walked in. I understand not everyone is the same and there is some trial and error, but I was never informed about the dangers that could happen by this way of doing Neurofeedback. I even asked her about any chances of over stimulation before she started and she reassured me that it has never happened. Most places do a mind mapping program to help guide them on what areas of the brain to focus on. Gretchen just tries different areas and frequencies with her fingers crossed, charging you if she messes you up, then wants to charge you again to fix her mistakes. I have asked Gretchen for our records and contracts several times (which I’m legally entitled to) and have yet to hear back from her. This just shows me that she has something to hide. P.S. The one other review is by someone that has the same last name as Gretchen. Probably a relative.
